Open Data and Open Source

The data and the tools this site is built on, published so that anyone can check them

Why we publish our data

Many peptide websites give numbers without a source. We think a reader should be able to check every number we publish.

So we publish the data and the tools behind this site. Anyone can read them, reuse them, and tell us when something is wrong.

Peptide Pharmacokinetics Dataset

The dataset gives the elimination half-life and the time to peak (Tmax) of 35 therapeutic and research peptides, with the route and the species of each study. For what these values mean and why they differ so much, read our guide to peptide half-life.

LevelMeaningPeptides
AFDA prescribing information10
BHuman clinical trial with pharmacokinetic data8
CAnimal data only, or human data without drug pharmacokinetics2
DNo published pharmacokinetic data found15

15 of the 35 peptides (43 %) have no published pharmacokinetic data. For these, the dataset gives no value. We checked every label value on DailyMed and every PMID on PubMed.

All 35 peptides, value by value

Each value links to its primary source. An empty cell means that we found no published value.

The formulas of our calculators

Our peptide calculator uses simple formulas: concentration, volume to draw and units on an insulin syringe. We publish them as a small JavaScript library. A test checks that it gives the same results as this site.

How we check every PubMed citation

A PMID can exist and still point to another paper. Before we publish an article, a tool reads the real title of each cited PMID on PubMed and compares it with the cited title. When they differ, it searches for the right article, or removes the link.

This step is part of our editorial policy. The tool is open source, so other publishers can use it too.

How to cite and how to report an error
