How Cagrilintide Is Dosed
Cagrilintide is a long-acting amylin analog developed as a once-weekly subcutaneous injection, and it is the amylin partner of semaglutide in the investigational combination known as CagriSema.
Its long duration comes from a measured terminal half-life of roughly 7 to 8 days (about 159 to 195 hours across the 0.16 to 4.5 mg dose range) reported in Novo Nordisk phase 1b pharmacokinetic work (Enebo et al., Lancet 2021, PMID 33894838). That half-life is what supports once-weekly dosing.
Because cagrilintide is measured in milligrams and titrated slowly, most people reconstitute a 5 mg or 10 mg vial and draw a fraction of it each week. The calculator above converts any mg dose into the exact units on a U-100 insulin syringe.
