How to Use This Peptide Calculator

1

Enter Peptide Amount

Input the total milligrams (mg) in your peptide vial. Common sizes: 2mg, 5mg, 10mg.

2

Add Water Volume

Enter how much bacteriostatic water (BAC water) you'll add. More water = easier to measure small doses.

3

Set Your Dose

Enter your desired dose in micrograms (mcg). The calculator shows exact syringe units to draw.

How GHRP-6 Is Dosed

GHRP-6 is a six-amino-acid growth-hormone-releasing peptide that mimics ghrelin. Alongside a growth-hormone pulse it is well known for a strong increase in appetite.

The one human pharmacokinetic measurement puts its terminal elimination half-life at about 2.5 hours after an intravenous bolus in healthy men (Cabrales et al., 2013, PMID 23099431). That figure was measured after IV dosing, so the effective duration after a subcutaneous injection may differ.

Community protocols use roughly 100 to 300 mcg per subcutaneous injection, one to three times daily, typically from a 5 mg or 10 mg vial. The calculator converts your chosen mcg dose into exact units.

GHRP-6 is a research compound. The doses shown are drawn from published trials or community protocols and are not clinically validated for self-administration. This tool is educational only and is not medical advice or a dosing recommendation.

The Math Behind Peptide Reconstitution

Concentration formula:

Concentration (mg/mL) = Peptide (mg) ÷ Water (mL)

Units to draw:

Units = [Dose (mcg) ÷ 1000] ÷ Concentration × 100

Example: BPC-157 250mcg dose

  • 5mg vial + 2mL BAC water = 2.5 mg/mL
  • 250mcg = 0.25mg
  • 0.25mg ÷ 2.5 mg/mL = 0.10mL
  • 0.10mL × 100 = 10 units on insulin syringe

Understanding Insulin Syringe Units

100806040200

10 units = 0.10 mL

Quick Reference

  • 100 units = 1 mL (full syringe)
  • 50 units = 0.5 mL (half syringe)
  • 10 units = 0.1 mL (1/10th syringe)
  • 1 unit = 0.01 mL

Standard insulin syringes are U-100, meaning 100 units per mL. This calculator uses this standard.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the half-life of GHRP-6?
A human study measured a terminal half-life of about 2.5 hours after an intravenous bolus (Cabrales et al., 2013, PMID 23099431). No subcutaneous pharmacokinetic study exists, so the duration after a normal SC injection may be different.
Why does GHRP-6 cause hunger?
GHRP-6 mimics ghrelin, the hormone that signals hunger, so a sharp rise in appetite is one of its most reported effects. This is a commonly cited difference from GHRP-2.
What is the difference between GHRP-6 and GHRP-2?
Both are ghrelin-mimetic growth-hormone-releasing peptides. GHRP-6 tends to cause more hunger, while GHRP-2 is often described as a cleaner growth-hormone releaser with less appetite effect. Neither is clinically validated for self-use.
What is bacteriostatic water (BAC water)?
Bacteriostatic water is sterile water containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a preservative. It prevents bacterial growth, allowing multi-use of reconstituted peptides for 4-6 weeks when refrigerated.
How much water should I add to my vial?
Common choices are 1mL, 2mL, or 3mL. More water makes small doses easier to measure accurately but means larger injection volumes. 2mL is a good balance for most peptides.
What does "units" mean on an insulin syringe?
Insulin syringes use "units" as measurements. Standard U-100 syringes have 100 units per 1mL, so 10 units = 0.10mL and 50 units = 0.50mL.
How long do reconstituted peptides last?
With bacteriostatic water, most peptides remain stable for 4-6 weeks when refrigerated at 2-8 degrees Celsius. With sterile water (no preservative), use within 24-48 hours.
Is this calculator free to use?
Yes, completely free with no signup required. For injection tracking, body maps and protocol management, see our full Peptide Lab app.
